Story Content

Waterton in the winter is a non-conforming destination offering a tranquility at every iconic viewpoint. There are a few notable scenic spots unique to Waterton that showcase the magic of winter offered here.  Here are some of our favorite spots but please comment below to share yours:

Bears Hump: Beginning at the Waterton Visitor Information Centre, this short yet strenuous climb rewards you with a spectacular view of the Waterton Valley no matter the season. Inhale the crisp mountain air as you gaze out onto the picturesque and iconic Waterton landscape.

Cameron Falls: Situated on the edge of town, these falls are a must-see in any season and provide a scenic backdrop to create the perfect selfie. Tip: Take the short walk up to the top lookout for a unique perspective of this famous Waterton lookout!

Red Chairs: The Red Chairs are strategically placed by Parks Canada at some of the best lookouts in Waterton. Finding the new location is half the fun! Bring your camera with you to capture a perfect photo op

Prince of Wales Hill:  This view offers the iconic valley shot as a backdrop, often showcased in several selfies year round.  The winter frosting over the valley creates a fresh outlook of this destination’s unique character.

Last year I chose Waterton Park- the Prince of Wales hotel specifically, to propose to my G/f. The waiter took great pics for the moment. Waterton has always been such a romantic getaway for us. We love it. Always will:)

My husband and I have been going to Waterton for more than 14 years now. We got engaged and married there. We return every year on our engagement and wedding anniversaries. We have also instilled our love of Waterton into our 3 sons and 1 daughter in law. Waterton is Gods Country to us.
