Waterton Park Chamber of Commerce
The Waterton Park Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors consists of Rod Kretz (President), Shameer Suleman (Vice President), Darcy Wright, Rod Bullock, Keith Robinson, Max Low, and Julie Millar.
As has been the case for a number of years now, the Chinook Country Tourist Association (CCTA) continues to professionally manage many of the detailed projects and initiatives that the Chamber is involved in. Some of the CCTA’s efforts include the following projects: Glacier Country Travel Guide, Visit Calgary Travel Guide, CKUA Radio Alberta, CJOC Radio Lethbridge, Southwest Alberta Travel Planner, Travel Alberta Summer Magazine, Travel Alberta Winter Magazine, FAM Tours, Experience the Mountain Parks Magazine, CMI publishing mobile guide, Montana Magazine, working with Bloggers, and Social Media Implementation.
After many years of fantastic work developing the Visitor Guide, Beth Russell-Towe decided last year to step back from her involvement with the guide. The Chamber Board would like to recognize Beth for all her hard work over the years developing a publication that the entire community can be truly proud of. After some deliberation, the Board decided that it would be most effective to have the CCTA add the visitor guide to its list of responsibilities. Board members have worked extensively with the CCTA in the past month to oversee a number of revisions to the publication yet keeping the overall feel of the guide the same. With the visitor guide currently going to print, this year’s edition will be printed on higher quality paper, and distributed far more extensively, thanks to the CCTA’s distribution network.
Another initiative that the Chamber has been focused on is the creation of a new logo to represent Waterton Lakes National Park. This new image will be used to tie in all future marketing efforts.
The last major effort of the Chamber of Commerce has been the creation of a new MyWaterton.ca website. Working in conjunction with ID Council, Chamber Board members have been working long hours in recent weeks to ensure a visually appealing, well-written, informative website that will prove to be a valuable source of information to travelers planning a visit to WLNP. The website has been designed to also provide information to local community members, so that they might stay informed of current and upcoming events in the area.
We invite you to come visit the businesses that will be opening their doors in Waterton this summer. As fellow leaseholders in Waterton, we appreciate your patronage and support in this truly unique community!
