Events: Current upcoming events include Wintervention (3rd week of Feburary, and the Pole & Spur, Crowsnest Skijoring (March 13).

Downhill Skiing

Castle Mountain
Located in Castle Provincial Park and has North America's longest fall line. On-hill accommodation and food services available.

Pass Powderkeg
This is a family friendly hill right in the town of Blairmore. It is a great place to learn how to ski. This hill also offers night skiing for a unique and memorable experience.

Winter Trails

Groomed Trails

Allison-Chinook Recreation Area
Offers 30+km of groomed cross-country skiing trails through Allison-Chinook for cross-country & snow shoeing. Numerous other nonmotorized backcountry trails can be found on Trailforks website, with over 1,200km of snowmobiling trails through Crow Snow Riders

Syncline Castle Trails
Syncline Cross-Country Ski Area has over 20 kilometres of packed and tracked ski trails between the South Castle and West Castle rivers.
The scenic beauty of these trails extends through rolling landscapes of montane forests and meadows. Syncline parking areas have recently been upgraded, and will be maintained and plowed for the winter season.

Cross Country, Snow Shoeing, Fat Biking
There are plenty of trails for cross-country, snow shoeing or fat biking to enjoy! Any of our trail system in The Pass is available for self-guided or through a tour operator. Please reference trailforks website to access the trail system!

Winter Activities

Over 1,200 km of trails, with 200 km consistently groomed, CNP is an award-winning mountain snowmobiling destination. This is self-guided and must have own equipment. Newcomers to the region can find trail information on Crowsnowriders.

Outdoor Skating
Crowsnest Lake is ideal for outdoor skating (when the wind cooperates). Located on Highway 3

Ice Fishing
Scenic lakes include Allison, Beauvais, Beaver Mines, Crowsnest, Island, Lee, and Phillips along with the Carbondale, Crowsnest and Oldman River. For detailed info visit the Crowsnest Café & Fly Shop or Crowsnest Angler for advice, fishing licence and supplies.

Winter Tour Guides

Uplift Adventures
Offers guided snowshoe trips, snowshoe & brunch, wilderness first aid certifications, interpretive tours, how-to on backpacking, navigation, and more! On Friday nights, they offer a night snowshoe around Crowsnest Pass. Saturday nights offer a family and friends event near Castle Mountain Resort, which includes a moonlit snowshoe and fireside treats!
