Here's a sampling of upcoming events. Keep checking back as more events will be added throughout the season:


"An Afternoon of Ballet"- Saturday, May 5 at 2:00 pm: The best of regional and international ballet all in one afternoon! Ballet dancers ages 3 to 16 of Mountain View Dance Studio will perform vignettes from Cinderella, followed by the in-cinema only big screen presentation of The Bolshoi Ballet's "Giselle". Prima ballerina Svetlana Zakharova personifies this ultimate ballerina role in the classical repertoire, alongside the sensational Sergei Polunin as Albrecht, in this chilling, yet luminous ballet that continues to captivate audiences for over 150 years at the Bolshoi.

“Mother’s Day Harp Concert”- Sunday, May 13 at 3 pm:  After treating Mom to a delicious brunch, enjoy an entrancing harp concert by Harp Angel Deborah Nyack. Heralded as the “Stradivarius of Harpists”, her numerous concerts span Carnegie Hall to her fame as the Lake Louise/Banff harpist, with expressive music that audiences rave touches the heart and soul.Harp Angel will be joined by Vanessa Cardiu, vocalist, guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, to bring you a concert of Celtic Contemporary Classical Fusion. An unforgettable experience for you, your family and your mom!

Deborah Nyack Harp Angel

 “A Taste of the Opera” – Saturday, May 26 at 7 pmReturning after rave reviews from last year! Sample a taste of opera’s biggest hits and more rare gems with tenor Jason Ragan and mezza-soprano Bethany Yon, professional opera singers, and pianist Ian Robertson. Together they perform beautiful music in honour of spring. Pair it with a wonderful dinner at a participating Waterton Food Festival restaurant. Check with the Food Festival site to find out more. An experience to savour!

 “Passport to the World Travel Film Festival” Thursday, May 31 to Sunday, June 3: The film series “Passport to the World” was born of the desire to discover or rediscover a variety of world destinations, both known and unknown by the general public, by means of high-quality feature-length films presented in movie theatres. Featuring eight professionally filmed productions in high definition and surround sound 5.1, these films are presented in collaboration with national tourism organizations, and depict an overall portrait of a country or region. All films are rated G.

Tickets: Adults: $10.00  Seniors and Children 3-12: $7.00. Purchase a 'passport' to see as many shows as you like for $45.00 (see end of post for ticket purchase info).

Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra presents: Vivaldi's 'The Four Seasons' - Saturday, June 16 at 7 pm: Carlos Foggin, conductor. This performance of Vivaldi's exquisitely beautiful concerto will be a spectacular Baroque symphony performance by The Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra. This orchestra is a collection of some of Calgary's finest classical musicians- an experience you won't want to miss. Held in conjunction with the Waterton Wildflower Festival.

Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra

"International Adventure Film Festival and Fair"-Saturday, June 23 starting at 1 pm: These films from the Ottawa Adventure Film Festival showcases some of the best adventure films from around the globe. The Adventure Fair features Waterton-based outdoor adventure specialists who will have information booths set up in the theatre to answer all your questions on how best to enjoy all Waterton has to offer. Fair runs from 1 - 3 pm, and films start at 3 pm.

International Adventure Film Festival

"The Missing Piece Rendezvous 2018" - Sunday, June 24 at 2:00 pm: There’s a very real possibility that the wilderness of Waterton Lakes National Park could more than double in size, and people are invited to gather at the Rendezvous to show their support the dream. We want to send the message that people are excited and committed to the idea of the expansion of Waterton Lakes into B.C.’s Akamina-Kishinena Provincial Park, also known as the Flathead Valley. Hosted by Harvey Locke. Music by Sid Marty and Friends. Presentation by Dr. Ric Hauer, Director of the Center for Integrated Research on the Environment at University of Montana.

By donation. Donations will go to the Flathead conservation initiative.

 The Met Opera Live On Screen: Puccini's LA BOHÈME -  Tuesday, July 3 at 11 am: The world’s most popular opera returns in Franco Zeffirelli’s classic production starring a cast of young stars, including Sonya Yoncheva as the fragile Mimì and Michael Fabiano as the poet Rodolfo. Marco Armiliato conducts.

The Met Opera's "La Boheme"

“Lorna MacLaughlan Quintet” Saturday, July 21 at 7 pm: This group has some of Calgary’s best musicians. “Lorna is one of those rare artists who can write beautifully, play beautifully, and sing beautifully. She does everything with great care and musicality and her music draws you in like a best friend. From the strong writing and arranging in her instrumental tracks to the engaging tone and lyrics in her vocal pieces, it's music that pleases a listener with a penchant for beautifully crafted compositions and strongly musical performances.” – Michelle Grégoire

Lorna MacLaughlan Quintet


“Wild Rose Trio” – Sunday, September 2 at 7 pm: The Wild Rose Trio was formed in the spring of 2016 when Liz, Julie and Mary, all members of Calgary’s Wind Symphony, realized a burning need to get together and play chamber music. As Liz is also an accomplished cellist, the trio presents the rich repertoire for clarinet, cello and piano: Beethoven’s Trio Opus 11, Brahms’ Trio Opus 114, Glinka’s ‘Trio Pathetique’. And this is just the beginning!
